Nestled within the dramatic Hottentots Holland Mountains, the Kogelberg Nature Reserve is often described as the “heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom.” It is renowned for its exceptional diversity of fynbos vegetation, with around 1,600 plant species, many of which are endemic to the region. Steep peaks, deep valleys, and clear rivers such as the Palmiet combine to create a remote wilderness landscape that has remained largely untouched by human activity and home to the native baboons.
